I've found boards can behave very different according to the fin choice, so I really value VMG Blades passion for designing fins to suit all conditions. The Mako 28 is my go to fin of choice for downwinding, because it's loose feel allows for easy direction changes when chasing and connecting bumps. I really like the Mako Time Trial for technical surf and course races with buoy turns because the time trial has very good tracking abilities and is very stable when standing on the tail during buoy turns. I have also found the Mako 35 & Mako 37 works well in a wide variety of conditions i.e. Carolina Cup when you have a little bit of everything on the course. The new innovations make fitting and changing out fins easier than ever before, and the upgrades in construction in my opinion undeniably make VMG Blades the best choice.
